A perfect 17-inch square, the SB13-Ultra subwoofer’s compact design is ideally suited for spaces where larger subwoofers wouldn’t fit, but deep, palpable bass is still desired. Painstakingly engineered, the SB13-Ultra is loaded with advanced design elements that set it apart from the competition.
High Output SVS Ultra Series Driver Design
Instead of merely adapting the previous Ultra driver to a more compact sealed enclosure, SVS engineers radically revised the motor geometry, added a unique, ultra-high-power aluminum voice coil, and developed a custom gap extension plate that increases linear stroke and reduces distortion. Add to that dual linear-roll spiders, a stitched parabolic surround, and the ultra-light but rigid Rohacell composite cone material of the 13-Ultra driver, and the result is an incredibly robust subwoofer with extreme excursion that easily outperforms subwoofers costing twice as much.
Powerful and Sophisticated Sledge STA-1000D Amplifier
To complement these driver refinements, the SB13-Ultra employs an integrated 1,000 watts RMS, 3,200+ watts peak power DSP Sledge amplifier with sophisticated DSPs perfectly matched to the driver and cabinet, and an equalization curve optimized for enhanced transient response and to complement room gain. Although it’s rated to deliver 20Hz to 460Hz (±3dB), in the right room, with the right settings, it can easily reach down to a gut-wrenching 15Hz, without diminishing the nuanced textures and incredible transient response that audiophiles demand of music. Its room gain compensation control also allows the SB13-Ultra to sonically adapt for optimal in-room frequency response. Power users will appreciate the two-band parametric equalizer (PEQ), yet this advanced feature is easily disabled for users who prefer to rely on the bass management of their favorite preamp or receiver.

USGrill Rattles
Awesome sound but the grill that covers the sub is a terrible design. It rattles no matter what I try. The only solution: remove it anytime it’s on. This gets really old when you pay $1500 for a sub that you want to work effortlessly. I have little kids so I need the grill on as much as possible. Almost flawless-just one glaring defect. I even considered upgrading to the $2500 top-of-the-line sub that they offer but it looks like it has the same grill cover and so I’m sure it will be the same problem.
CAAmazing Sub and Customer Service to match
I did a lot of research when looking for a Sub that would give my home theater room the perfect earth shattering Bass. The SB13 Ultra did not disappoint. No matter what I listened to, it made the scene even more realistic and incredible. From heavy bass-boosted music to explosive action movie scenes, this sub blew my mind with heart pounding intensity. I highly recommend this Sub to anyone looking to complete their audio system the right way. Before and after my purchase, I needed some assistance and guidance, their customer support was fantastic. I want to personally thank Darren for his outstanding dedication to making sure I will always purchase from SVS in the future. Great purchase and Amazing Sub!!!!
USGreat for Music
I went from SVS NSD 12 SB I have to say that both of them are flawless subwoofers for Music. Now my mistake is that I like movies more than music. I bought the SB 13 BECAUSE of its size. I wish I could get the PB 13 but it's too big . Now don't get me wrong watching Jurassic Park the original some of the pots in the kitchen fell off the shelves . But what can I say I am still missing Baseeeeeeeeeeee!!!! ! For music say no more it's more than adequate as a matter of fact I think at reference levels its way too much. This thing is quick it does not missing a beat. It integrates as if the low frequencies where originating from the two front channels and my sub is located in the back of the room. That is unbelievable .... I conclusion if you like movies and your thinking about 1500 to 2000 dollars go for the PB series otherwise you will always be wondering " what if" now if you like music better I cannot recommend it enough. I guess when I get around I will pull the trigger on a PB 4000 but in the meantime I will continue to enjoy this dociled musical beast

I had a music system comprised of Ultra Bookshelves / Prime Towers and Dual SB-1000’s. I saw the Outlet Store had the SB13 Ultras on clearance with no damage. I purchased one to check it out. The subwoofer hits nice and deep. I ordered another to have duals. The dual SB-1000’s will be sold to help someone build their system up. I am very satisfied with the one and know after this Friday, (3/9/18) I will be escastic.
USSVS Outlet subs
Please read other reviews on sub quality. They are awesome! What I wanted to comment on is the Outlet items that SVS marks as "scratches" etc... Over the past month I have revamped my entire house with SVS subs. Got 5 of them - absolutely love them. The sound, the looks... the whole package. I bought them all at Outlet and two of them were marked as having some scratches. I really wanted these bad boys so figured will save couple of hundred bucks on subs with scratches and will just live with them as I'm sure my kids would make them feel right at home and in a few days they'll have some more scratches. So got the subs and saw some of the "scratches" (I'm putting the word in quotes as they are really minimal ....really nothing... other manufacturers may even choose to sell them as "Like New"). So, after hearing complaining for a little bit from my wife on all these subs I told her there were a few scratches...she says...try using Magic Eraser and see if that can help. Wholly smokes! for once listened to my wife and just wiped the sub with wet Magic Eraser ....the scratches practically became invisible!!! The piano color looks even more beautiful than before (not that before was bad at all)! It looks like SVS paints them quite deep into the veneer that the paint is sturdy to withstand scratches. Long story short...don't hesitate if you see subs advertised with scratches, highly likely you can get rid of most of them with Magic Eraser, but if not, you still get hell of a deal! Thanks SVS for selling excellent product at an awesome price!!! I'm loaded with subs now until they come up with something new!
