The SVS SB-2000 achieves a staggering 19-240 Hz frequency response from a compact, sealed enclosure weighing only 35 lbs. and measuring roughly 15-inches all around. The subwoofer’s weight, compact footprint and understated but elegant appearance makes it easy to move and blend into any listening environment, without sacrificing any of the power and slam you’d expect from a massive subwoofer. No small performer, the SB-2000 beats the output levels of subwoofers twice its size and weight. An all-new driver and amplifier, sealed cabinet and revised tuning enable the SB-2000 to achieve levels of articulation, musicality, dynamics and fathomless extension unequaled in other compact powered subwoofers.
Commanding 12-Inch SVS High-Excursion Driver
At the heart of the SVS SB-2000 subwoofer is a newly engineered 12-inch 2000-series driver with dual high-grade ferrite magnets and an FEA-optimized motor for distortion-free performance, even at the most extreme drive levels. A reinforced Nomex spider was integrated for improved linearity and driver control, especially important when the STA-500D amp is pushing the driver to reference SPL playback levels. This ensures accurate frequency response with maximum impact. To ensure the SB-2000 can play its best long into the future, the driver also features a durable low-creep rubber long-throw surround and integrated tinsel leads to maximize longevity.
Powerful and Sophisticated Sledge STA-500D Amplifier
The SB-2000 Subwoofer’s Sledge STA-500D DSP amplifier boasts specs and features normally found in subwoofers costing two or three times as much. Conservatively rated at 500 watts RMS and 1,100+ watts peak dynamic power, the amp also has brains to match its brawn. A sophisticated DSP in the amplifier includes an array of filters along with volume, gain, and phase controls for fine-tuning performance. A frequency-dependent limiter/compressor algorithm with adjustable attack/release and compression parameters offers the ultimate in refined behavior at the drive limits of the subwoofer system.
Sonically Inert and Rigidly Braced Cabinet
Rounded edges and a curved metal grille cover on the PB-2000 cabinet give it a refined look that blends visually with home theaters and high-end audio systems. Its ported cabinet design features extensive internal bracing for the driver and motor to ensure an inert environment, resulting in tighter, more accurate bass with no coloration while maximizing on airflow and dynamic output potential.

This is actually my second SB-2000. I bought the first one a year ago due to my old Def Tech sub being too small for our new homes living room(16x22). I was so impressed by it that it became my goal to have 2 of them. I absolutely love my dual SB-2000 set up I have now. There's definitely better out there but you would be hard pressed to do it in this price range.

easy setup and easy to control. Sub sounds great! I have a PB+2000 Pro and PB-1000 Pro as well. From my experience, ALL SVS subs handle the deep lows extremely well while other brands handle higher frequencies. So my 2 cents are, if you want your lows buy SVS subs !!

I really love the SVS line of speakers and subs. I bought my first SVS sub a SB12 NSD in 2017 when I attended a new product reveal at World Wide Stereo. I still have the SB12 NSD sub and I have added a Prime 7.1.2 surround system, a pair of Ultra towers and now the SB 2000 sub. I paired the SB 2000 with the SB12 NSD for stereo listening and it made a great improvement on smoothing out the bass in the room. Thanks for making great speakers at an a affordable price. Tom.

***I am just an amateur listener***. I have owned an Outlawaudio sub 12 inch for many years but it gave up the ghost a few months ago. The research began to replace it around the same price point. It came down to the SVS SB2000. After a FedEx delay in shipping (not on SVS) it arrived. No damage whatsoever on the outside of the box, which tells me that it is handled well in shipping. I must say upfront that I am not a BASSHEAD. I prefer something tight that can handle music and movies but not overpowering bass. This sub fits the bill. It is basically 14x14x14, so small footprint. For reference, my QA sub was 21x16x23. It looks massive compared to the SB2000 but never had the "clarity" the SB2000 has. I set it up using LFE input from Vanatoo One active speakers. Turned the volume to around 3.5 and started listening to both music and movies. All I can say is, AMAZING!!!!!! The OA sub wasn't even close to having a tight and responsive bass like the SB2000 produces. It's actually stunning. For movies I set volume at 4.5 and was a tad too much and lowered it to 4. I will tweak and try different positions but for the initial setup, this sub rocks. No idea how this would sound in an open room, but for my office it is the perfect sub. Adds depth to music and movies. If you are on the edge of buying a budget sub that doesn't sound like a budget sub, get this.
