Distortion

Distortion is any lack of faithfulness to, distance from, or alteration to the true sound of the audio source content. It can be introduced at any point in the signal chain—from the source material all the way to the loudspeaker output. Some common causes of distortion in loudspeakers are inadequate crossover design, low quality materials, and mismatched components.
